Good Practice
Healthy Living Initiatives provide real opportunities to improve health and address inequalities. Local people working together at community level and in partnership with service providers, focusing on health in its broadest sense can help to develop sustainable communities that improve their quality of life and health.
The Healthy Living Initiative programme provides many ways in which to engage the local community enabling them to take an active part in the regeneration of their area through community health development.
It is essential that the promotion of healthy living is extended throughout the county of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, linking to existing thematic plans and strategies.
Community Health Development Team
All change again at the Healthy Living Initiative! We are now aligning ourselves much more closely with the Health Promotion Service in as much as we will no longer be the Healthy Living Initiative, but the Community Health Development Team at the Health Promotion Service. I think our identity has caused some confusion in the past and we are hoping that this will make things clearer. We have obviously always been part of the Health Promotion Service but as a project with a separate identity, we are now losing the Healthy Living logo and identity and you will know us simply as part of the Health Promotion Service as a whole.
