Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), support children and young people up to the age of 18.
The CAMHS service helps children and young people deal with emotional, behavioural or mental health issues. These include: Emotional problems e.g. anxiety, depression, anger, mood swings, low self-esteem. Problems with your behaviour e.g. violence, destructiveness, self-harm, hyper-activity, over-sexualisation and obsession Relationship problems, including difficulties in the family, with friends or colleagues, in school or the community, as well as difficulties associated with attachment and loss.
Problems with development or disability eg bed-wetting and difficulties with eating, sleeping or talking Emotional problems linked to physical health issues e.g. difficulties with taking medication as prescribed by a doctor We offer lots of different kinds of support and have a wide range of people who are trained to help. These include social workers, doctors, nurses, psychologists, mental health workers and other therapists.
