NORDA HOUSE PROJECT Support for Men Experiencing Domestic Abuse

Location: county wide

We support men who have left or are leaving abusive relationships. We can provide safe accommodation for men and their children in our male refuge in Cornwall. We have a separate, self-contained unit which may be suitable for ‘Trans’ victims who may not feel comfortable in the main refuge, or possibly couples fleeing ‘honour based violence’.

WHAT WE DO

Here at Norda House we have many years experience of working with male victims. We support men who have left or are leaving abusive relationships; we can provide safe accommodation for men and their children in our male refuge in Cornwall. We have a separate, self-contained unit which may be suitable for ‘Trans’ victims who may not feel comfortable in the main refuge, or possibly couples fleeing ‘honour based violence’.

  • We believe
  • We respect
  • We do not judge
  • We support
  • We care

We embrace diversity and offer support to all male victims of abuse regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

Our services are confidential.

As well as refuge we offer practical advice and emotional support both over the phone, and face to face through our outreach service.

We will be facilitating a monthly peer support group in Mid Cornwall where male victims can meet others. It can feel very supportive meeting others who understand and seeing you are not alone.

We also run a pattern changing programme ‘The Recovery Toolkit’ to enable men who are no longer in abusive relationships to develop healthy relationships in the future.
