Much is said in the media about alcohol (and other substance use) and its effects on young people – it can be confusing to make the right choices, keep safe but still enjoy yourself, particularly when we may not understand how alcohol affects our judgement, our bodies…. and possibly our future
Brief Interventions are ‘Single or multiple sessions of motivational discussion focussed on increasing the individuals insight and awareness regarding specific health behaviours and their motivation for change.'
Healthy Weight works with people of all ages throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to promote healthy eating, physical exercise and weight management. Find events in your area, experience one of our healthy eating and cooking courses for free, join our weight management programme.
EEFO has been set up to help you with any issues that you may face in everyday life. Our aim is to find all the young person friendly services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and put them in one easy to find list. There's also lots of articles on a wide range of issues.
This scheme offers the opportunity for volunteers to work alongside NHS projects that support the health of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly communities. Volunteering offers the opportunity to improve your health and wellbeing, while making new friends along the way.
A Healthy School is one that promotes physical and emotional health by providing accessible and relevant information and equipping pupils and staff with the skills and attitudes to make informed decisions about their health.
Together with Cornwall Healthy Schools Heartstart Cornwall trains members of the community, schools and local businesses how to deliver emergency life-support training. These groups set up as a FREE training scheme which equips both adults and children with skills to help save lives
The aim of the mental health project is to increase awareness of mental ill-health and reduce stigma throughout Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly which will be achieved through the delivery of training and awareness events across Cornwall & lsles of Scilly.
Our aim is to offer FREE help and support to anyone who wants to stop smoking. Using the friendly help and support of a trained NHS advisor plus medication on prescription you are up to four times more likely to successfully quit smoking.
The workplace is a setting where many people spend the largest proportion of their time and therefore can play a key role in contributing to the health of their employees and in turn the health of their organisation.
