Support for Circle Time in Schools

The Cornwall County Council Behaviour Support Unit can provide advice and information about Circle Time.

As part of my work in the PHASE project and for the Healthy Schools scheme I am available to schools to attend staff meetings or INSET sessions although this will be limited to a fixed number per term during 2005 - 6.

I attended the Jenny Mosley, Train the Trainers course in September 2002 and became an accredited CT trainer. (reaccredited in February 2004 and will reaccredit in Oct 2006).

Training can be tailored to support the needs of the school and as I gain more experience I am developing a more practical, ideas based approach. As part of my work with Healthy Schools I am able to offer training around developing pupil participation and the use of Circles to evaluate progress in achieving Healthy Schools targets. I am also interested in how Circle Time can be used to teach children important skills for injury prevention and am developing a teaching pack for schools called 'Safety through the Circle'. There are fewer Circle Time workshops taking place at the mometn because of my work as Healthy Schools Coordinator, when I do offer courses Details will be posted here and on the EAL information exchange.

There are other accredited trainers in County who may also be available to offer training and support. They are some of the Early Years Team, members of the Children's Fund team and individual teachers.
