Every Child
Matters and Education
|
Every Child Matters will have an impact on the work of schools.
A part of the changes under the Change for Children agenda will be joint area reviews and annual performance assessments which will aim to judge the contributions made by services, including education, to the achievement of the 5 outcomes.
For example, The percentage of schools participating in the National Healthy School Standard will be a key indicator under the Being Healthy Outcome.
At school level OfSTED will be looking for the school's contribution to the 5 outcomes both in the responses to the SEF, involvement in the Healthy Schools Programme and in the ethos and work of the school.

SCHOOLS' GOOD PRACTICE

Some schools have displays around how what they do meets the 5 outcomes, others are planning special agenda items / discussion themes for school councils to discuss whether there is more the school can do to develop the 5 outcomes in school and the 5 outcomes make great Circle Time themes...
