CORNWALL HEALTHY SCHOOLS PROGRAMME – CORE THEME TRAINING
To help schools meet the requirements of the new national Healthy School Standard the Cornwall Healthy Schools Programme will be holding a series of training events around the County based on the four Core Themes:
- Personal Social and Health Education
- Healthy Eating
- Physical Activity
- Emotional Health and Well-Being

Each session will last half a day and will cover:
- Meeting the criteria
- Local Partners who can support schools
- Useful documents / resources / contacts / links
- Evidence and evaluation
- Preparing and implementing policies
- Pupil / Parent Participation
- Self assessment and the validation process
NETWORKING AND LOCAL SUPPORT GROUPS FOR SCHOOLS
There will also be networking opportunities with neighbouring schools and a audit / action plan ‘surgery’ run by team members.

- Involving Parents and Carers and Pupils in being a Healthy School
- SRE in the HS Standard

- Circle Time / Protective Behaviours in the Primary Classroom
