Support for Schools
|
We aim to support primary schools to develop and deliver drug education in line with national guidelines and government priorities and taking into account evidence of effectiveness and good practice.
This support will include:
Meeting Demand...
...will prove to be an interesting challenge! We have already had a tremendous response to the questionnaire we sent out last term about the CHESS packs and we are currently in the process of planning the work that it has generated.
We also have a list of priority schools to work with linked to the changes taking place in the Healthy Schools Programme
So we'll aim to be innovative and flexible in the way we support schools and it is likely our support will operate at several levels:
- Level 1: Information / Links posted on this website (so tell us what you'd like to see on it!)
- Level 2: Training courses offered through the HPS training prospectus
- Level 3: Training, possibly based on cluster groups and brought to your area
- Level 4: School based support (as needs are identified / capacity allows)
We are keen to look at joined up thinking and seek oportunities to combine things like drugs education work with PSHE development and the introduction of SEAL into the primary curriculum as well look at the place of drugs education in Every Child Matters and in achieving HS status.
